New requirements for Supervisory Management Certificate
Changes go into effect January 1, 2021
UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education is simplifying the requirements for the Supervisory Management Certificate Program. As we have added more virtual programming, we had an opportunity to evaluate our Supervisory Management Certificate requirements.
Current requirements:
Take 3 core classes plus 6 days of electives in 5 years.
New requirements as of January 1, 2021
To earn your certificate, take 3 core classes plus 3 electives in 5 years.
Under the old requirement, if you took two 2-day electives and one 1-day elective, you would still need one 1-day elective to complete your certificate. Under the new rules, you will have completed your certificate with the 3 electives as long as you have also completed the three core classes.
Frequently asked questions:
If I have already started my certificate do I follow the new requirements or the old?
The new requirements are retroactive so you would start following the new requirements as of January 1, 2021.
How do I know what I still need to complete my certificate?
If you have taken Supervisory Management courses but are unsure what you still need to complete your certificate please email ce@uwec.edu. Include your full name as it would appear in registration, and we will let you know what is needed to complete to earn your certificate.
