Gain confidence as a communicator

In today’s business world there are many challenges to communication including technology and physical space. This online course will give you the foundational knowledge you need to be an exceptional communicator. Learn to be intentional and influential in your communication so that you can navigate challenging situations and move forward in your growth and in your career.   

Through interactive group work, you will learn about your communication style and how to improve communication with your team so you can lead from your current position. Seats are limited for this course in order to provide you with more personalized instruction.  

Additional Learning Objectives:  

  • Understand your communication style and recognize how your style might be perceived by others, especially in times of stress
  • Learn how to adjust your communication style situationally to meet the communication needs of others to build stronger, more trusting relationships
  • Demonstrate credibility and confidence in leadership communication situations such as influencing others, gaining commitment and sharing information or feedback
  • Use active listening and skillful questioning techniques to help team members solve problems, remove performance barriers and improve productivity

Allison holds a Certified Executive Coach designation from the Center for Executive Coaching, is an Inclusion Institute Certified Diversity Practitioner, is a Board Certified Coach (Center for Credentialing and Education), is a Myers‐Briggs practitioner (CAPT), and is DiSC certified (Wiley). She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin‐Eau Claire and her master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Minnesota.

CEU Information

Participants will earn 1 Continuing Education Units ( 10 Contact Hours) upon completion of this program.

Cancellation Policy

We understand life happens. Should you need to cancel your registration, you may substitute someone to take your place, at any time, at no cost to you. If we cancel a program, we’ll give you your money back.

If your program is 14 or more days away:
You may transfer once to any currently available program – no charge!
If you have to cancel, you will receive a refund, minus a 20% administrative fee.

If your program is less than 14 days away:
You may transfer once to any currently available program, plus a 20% transfer fee.
If you cancel, you will not receive a refund.

If you are registered and do not attend the program, you are responsible for the full fee.

Substitution, refund or transfer requests must be submitted via email or phone call to UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education.
