S.T.E.M Saturday is a day for students to explore their curiosity with engaging, hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math. Students get to learn and have an amazing day with mega-mind professors from UWEC-Barron County. 

Hydraulic STEM Engineering – Chuck Prissel (UW-Extension)

Explore your creativity to make simple machines and levers using hydraulics to move objects and complete tasks! Let your creativity guide you in this session!

Mobiüs Bagels – Dr. Feroz Siddique (Mathematics) 

Study and interact with the mathematical mysteries of manifolds. Create and investigate Mobiüs bands and Klein’s bottle. Learn how to slice a bagel like a Mathematician for a delightful gastrointestinal experience!

Blasting Off with Air – Matthew Coel (Physics) 

Build and launch your own miniature rocket. The only fuel needed is air and your own adventurous spirit! 

All You Need is Milk – Dr. Abbey Fischer (Chemistry) 

Got milk questions? Come get answers! We’ll explore the science of milk to help answer your questions, learn more about sugars, proteins, and fats, and make a fun dairy product or two. All tasting is optional!
