Explore the Overlooked Aspects of WWII

Join us to gain a deeper understanding of the far-reaching consequences of WWII and the stories that are often overlooked in textbooks.

In this program you will:

  • Analyze how wartime production, morale, and racial tensions played out in various countries.
  • Explore the often-overlooked Eastern Front, including the war in China and the attempted coup in Japan.
  • Gain insights into Hitler's ambitions through analysis of his evening discussions and his plans for a Nazi-dominated world order.
  • Examine the psychological profiles of captured German leaders to understand the human toll of war.
  • Uncover the stories of the war's displaced people, including Jews, civilians, prisoners of war, widows, and orphans.

Instructors

  • Paul Chase headshot

    Dr. Paul Chase is a retired lecturer in European and German history and former Dean and Campus Executive Officer at UW-Barron County. Dr. Chase studied European History at Stony Brook University (NY) and Heidelberg and Berlin (Germany). He has traveled throughout Europe with frequent visits to Germany over the past 50 years.
