To earn this microcredential, you must:
- Attend all four days of the course
- Develop a written plan outlining long-term strategies for fostering inclusiveness and cultural awareness in your workplace
- Submit your plan on Canvas for instructor review and approval
Cost
$100 (in addition to the course fee). This fee covers the evaluation of your submitted work, instructor review, credential processing, and issuance of a digital badge to showcase your achievement.

Jodi Thesing‐Ritter is the Executive Director for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Wisconsin‐Eau Claire. She provides leadership for diversity and inclusion for the campus, supervises the campus college access and success program‐ Blugold Beginnings, facilitates the Civil Rights Pilgrimage, teaches in the Women’s Studies and Honors programs, and provides ongoing training and development on issues of diversity and inclusion. Her research on the UW‐Eau Claire Civil Rights Pilgrimage has been published in the book‐ Dark Tourism and Pilgrimage. Jodi received a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Columbia University and an education specialist degree from UW‐Stout. She was honored with the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Excellence award from UW‐Eau Claire and has received the UW System Board of Regents Diversity Award for her work with Blugold Beginnings. Her strengths are Activator, Developer, Strategic, Positivity, and Achiever.

Paige Sechrest has her PhD in political science from the University of Washington, specializing in Black political thought and comparative politics. In addition to studying political theory, Paige has also specialized in quantitative methodology, earning a certificate from the Center for Statistics in the Social Sciences at the University of Washington. In her current position at the University of Washington, her duties include delivering trainings around responding to and preventing gender-based violence and identity-based harassment. She also oversees the administration and analysis of an annual climate survey exploring experiences of identity-based harassment.
